Every note I play
is a drop of my blood
A stain in time where I once stood.
So many notes left, yet to be
How many drops can be left in me.
Once the notes fell like rain.
I did not care from where they came.
I let them fall where ever they may
On drunken ears talking as I played.
So few left now, I know its true
So please take a note
if I play one for you.
I squeeze the last drops
from thisĀ aching hand
Let it calm the storm inside thisĀ man
It has all the hope I have left in me.
And I know in the end
it will set me free.
When the last drop falls
you’ll know it’s true.
My greatest joy was to play a tune.
