jinx

The Village WordSith Posted on 29/12/2017 by Steve29/12/2017

Seems like there is always a storm in the mix
Somehow that’s where I get my jinx
I was not aware of this cushy life I live until I saw your world.
now I’ve become old, soft, lazy and wasteful with my day
I see you must struggle for every breath you take
It hurts so bad to see the tough life you have lived

Everyone knows the road ahead
We all had dreams yes we did
but its not what it seems never is.

When I was young I thought I had the power of god right in my hand
Come to learn it’s not so much who I thought I was but who I am
You feel the earth turn right beneath your feet.
So many lives lived in the blink of an eye.
I can see the days don’t know if it’s real
the sun on my face all I can feel
I can see the years on the back of my hand
The days behind me like foot prints in the sand
There is a story in the pavement
cracked and broken a lot like me
But I’m Walking in the presence of angels
bringing peace just let it be
Its magic and you don’t see it when it trickles from my hand

Tunes come from both sides of my brain
Don’t know why but it’s very strange
Their all passing right through me
If I die in my sleep who would believe all those thing I said
What can it be I just don’t see why I’m not already dead
Still here another day I want to stay in bed
The train is moving so very fast and time is so short
I could just close my eyes and it would all be over
Why don’t I cry why don’t I run
You can’t live in fear of the sun
On the edge of a dream I saw a door in my head
You can’t relive all the words once said
Whats more of a fright
The devil beside me or the one in the night
I scribble in the darkness
It carries on deep in the night
I hate the silence and sometimes I hate the lite
I love the silence I love the lite
Peace is the space around me

It came true today
I did not think it would happen this way
Had a vision on a sunny day
Don’t know why I ever let it slip away

Scribble

The Village WordSith Posted on 10/11/2017 by Steve10/11/2017

Scribbling in the darkness
Deep into the nite.
Words trying to escape my mind
Flood out into the light.

The sound of the pen against the paper
Breaks the silence in the nite.
In my mind I see the countless scribbles
of countless writers with my plight.

I don’t know where the words come from.
My fingers just want to run.
Like a wolf running with the pack.
I just got to get out in front.

AnotherDay

The Village WordSith Posted on 09/11/2017 by Steve11/08/2024

I can’t write fast enough to get it out.
Time is so short each day.
Each moment could be so many possibilities.
You can choose any one you want.
don’t make sense I don’t want any.

Time

The Village WordSith Posted on 02/11/2017 by Steve02/11/2017

I know I’m sloppy
but it ain’t for not trying
I have too many notes inside that I have to get out,
And I ain’t got too much time

Silence

The Village WordSith Posted on 11/10/2017 by Steve11/10/2017

So close together but still you’re not with me
The silence can be deafening and my days fly by
I feel my time is short,I know my days are few
I sit alone at night and stare into the silence
Loneliness and I have always been the very best of friends.
No one will hear me if I cry in the end.

We could never talk about what we really need
No one can ever be prepared For what you turn out to be
I bleed into my work traces of my soul
You stare into the chaos that I don’t want to know
Just phantoms left of who we used to be
We never touch and it breaks my heart
To think you don’t want me

Children

The Village WordSith Posted on 23/08/2017 by Steve23/08/2017

Children
December 19, 2012
I remember when mom was beautiful
and daddy was just as mean.
He beat her with a chair in the kitchen
on Christmas eve.
Me and my baby brother,
we got right in the way.
We said daddy your not gonna
beat on mommy no more today.

When

The Village WordSith Posted on 18/08/2017 by Steve18/08/2017

When it all comes down to it
And you see the later days
Only one thing really matters anymore
Just how smart can you be
When it starts changing all around you
Can you make your way out
When there are strangers all around you.
Even if you can’t find the door.

The Village WordSith Posted on 07/08/2017 by Steve11/08/2024

We are what we are
I am what I am
You are who you are
Yet we are the same

Darkness

The Village WordSith Posted on 04/07/2017 by Steve04/07/2017

Seems like all my words come from the darkness
Yet I keep searching for the light
I Feel the warm wind on my face
I can hear the earth in flight

I could reach out and touch the moon
While the sun is chasing me around
In the quite darkness I find home
and I’m still searching for that sound

Let the moon light find me
Let the music play
Beat the drums
Let it shake the ground
Till love comes back to stay.

Then we will fly like birds in the sky
We will run till the morning comes
Then we will play all the songs undone
In the early morning mist
we will find true love in a kiss

Indians

The Village WordSith Posted on 03/07/2017 by Steve11/08/2024

Taken from the forest to the desert land
lying face down in the sand I thought I was dreaming.
White man wants the gold, the oldest story ever told.
An in the end my people would die.

Son don’t ever trust a white man
He’ll burn you home and take your land
He will leave you face down in the desert to die.

On May 28, 1830 the Indian Removal Act
was signed into law by President Andrew Jackson.
