Earth

The Village WordSith Posted on 13/11/2015 by Steve13/11/2015

This silence is so deafening just a roar inside my head.
The air so thick around me like a dark churning sea.
This life is heavy on me and sometimes its hard to breath.
I look up in the sky and I can see the stars they move.
I feel the earth turning right beneath my feet.
The time is racing and I feel it losing me.

I stepped back from the edge with just a glimpse inside.
Now the days fly by, but somehow not the nights.
Still my bones ache from the passing of the time.
Dreams fade but somehow not mine.

The burning day is over.
Now it’s time to play.
Some notes like magic falling from a rainbow on a wave.
The moon light shines down on me and turns my night right into day.
I think it makes me stronger and my troubles start to fade.

Cast the tune, let it fill the room.
Let it fly, like and angel’s cry.
Drive that beat right into the night.
Drive me crazy till the morning light.

You were born to rock so pick up the clock.
Gotta get on top of a wave that rolls.
You should know by now, you live to rock.
The clock is ticking now we gotta go.

You know it’s a race.
Can my mind put it together
Before my fingers forget.

I’ve spent my life running.
I just could not get somewhere.
It just quietly came to pass,
I was already there.

Angels

The Village WordSith Posted on 22/07/2015 by Steve22/07/2015

Every single heart beat,
every breath you take,
Is a miracle from the time you awake.
You are an angel,  yes its true.
This world was made here
just for you.

New Life

The Village WordSith Posted on 16/05/2015 by Steve16/05/2015

The world is new.
I try to find just what I might say
that would help to show you the way,
but it’s just not really there.
Every life is so different
and so unique.
What works for one
turns out to kill the next.
Now the poision I take keeps my heart beating in my chest.
I live for the sunrise and the sunset.
The wind and the breeze are my dreams as they sail through another sunny day.
My life is a few moments left at the end of one crazy race,
where I am the winner and the loser of every single place.

Weary

The Village WordSith Posted on 20/09/2013 by Steve20/09/2013

Miles to go before I sleep.
Miles gone by that I did not see.
I never really thought that I would ever get this far.
Like a storm on the wind,
the dark clouds are my friends.
Seems like so very long ago,
I thought this would all be so different.
Life is never what you would expect it to be.
Every second is a miracle
and most don’t see it.

When I walked alone down that white line,
right out of town so long ago,
I did not think I had anything to lose,
but I was so wrong.
My life passed by in the twinkle of an eye.
Time is like a bullet,
you will never see it coming.

I walked that center line right out of town on a dark and moon lite night.
Afraid of the noises I could hear in the darkness to my left and to my right.
I walked for hours through the countryside down that straight white line.
I thought somehow I might loose those bad dreams I had left behind.

They say don’t look back
but I did so many times.
What was lying deep in the darkness drove me harder down that line.
With the sun came a ride
now I’m a million miles away.
There is no going back,
I left no tracks.
My path has faded in the day.

Notes

The Village WordSith Posted on 07/07/2013 by Steve30/07/2024

Just a couple of notes,
on my finger tips.
Let the tune roll off my fingers.
Some soft words might pass my lips.
Let the night stay and linger.

I’m floating notes out on the wind.
Let the sound slip through my fingers.
There’s an angel falling from my hand.
She touch my heart and start a fire.

Just let it rock.
Let her roll. Let the tunes roll.
Let it move you.
Let it start a fire down in your soul.

Just let it rock.
Let her roll.
Let it move you.
Let it start a fire burning out of control.

Just a couple of notes, on my finger tips.
Let the ring roll round her finger.
Some soft words to pass my lips.
Let the night stay and linger.

I’m floating notes out on the wind.
I Let her hair slip through my fingers.
There’s a rainbow falling from my hand.
It echoes back like the sounds of thunder.

Just let it rock.
Let it roll.
Beat the drums all night.
Start a fire burning out of control.

Just let it rock.
Let it roll.
Let it move you.
Let it start a fire down in your soul.

Falling notes, like the tears I cry.
Like embers floating on the wind.
Float out the door and float out of sight.
Please come back and bring my lover.

Just let it rock.
Let it roll.
Let it move you.
Let it start a fire down in your soul.

Moon shines bright right through the night.
Don’t let the night be a stranger.
Now beat the drums to the dancing feet.
Echoes back like the sounds of thunder.

Just a note on my fingertip.
Some soft word while we linger.
A rainbow falling from my hand.
Crashing down like so much thunder.
An ember floating on the wind.
Touch your heart and start a fire.

TechNo

The Village WordSith Posted on 06/07/2013 by Steve06/07/2013

So many buttons now in this world, we don’t even need a pencil anymore.
In this wilderness of wires and signals where is the real world that we used to know.
In its day the pen and paper carried the greatest thoughts of all man.
Now I see my old guitar standing in the corner and it calls out.
The only real expression left to make in this world.
A sound on a wave.
It was here long before the pen and the papers, the buttons and the switches.
I don’t know why I did not see it sooner.
All the effort to speak a truth unspoken,
taken so many lives and left them broken.
Burn that energy to make a sound
that takes your feelings for a flight.

Sacred Breath

The Village WordSith Posted on 06/05/2013 by Steve06/05/2013

The world is coming up around you.
You don’t really see how sacred
Each moment you live
Each breath you take
This life is a wonder around you
From the second you awake

Children

The Village WordSith Posted on 19/12/2012 by Steve19/12/2012
I remember when mom was beautiful and daddy was just as mean.
He beat her with a chair in the kitchen on Christmas eve.
Me and my baby brother, we got right in the way.
We said daddy your not gonna beat on mommy no more today.

Strength

The Village WordSith Posted on 15/12/2012 by Steve15/12/2012

I had no strength, but I was so strong.
I was not blind, but I was wrong.
I could not see what’s come to pass
and now the wind has captured me.

When I was young and life was long
I had so much time to carry on.
I did not think what I might be.
I walked right past the best of me.

Now I watch the sunrise everyday.
I see all the people on their way.
I know your out there lost as me.
You got to catch the wind,
catch the breeze.

Poison

The Village WordSith Posted on 22/08/2012 by Steve22/08/2012

Now it’s the poison that keeps me alive.
They tried to kill me but I don’t die.
It’s like someone has some kind of plan.
I don’t know just who I am.

Sunrise burning through the day.
The sea brings tunes in on the waves.
I dream of sunshine on the bay
And my love smiling once again.
