Blue Bullets

Blue bullets fly, they cut through the night so easy.
They crack the sky, tearing us apart completly
The shattered lives, lying in the street again tonight.
The angels fly away on broken wings, right into the night

Darkness creeping  like a runaway train tonight.
Nobody driving you better hold on tight.
Streets are running red once again we cry.
People watching people hiding inside.

Shadows chasing these crazy waves tonight.
I walk the beach and I sing to the tide
Darkness chasing the crazy runaway train tonight.
A band of angels stand by my side,
When we cross the line.

Countless bands of angels, countless I songs never heard.
Some great cause to follow but they never been put into words.
We are all just soldiers in a war rising on the tide.
The angels stand in the shadows to hear the songs we have inside

Seems like all my words come right out of darkness, yet I’m searching for the light.
I feel the warm wind on my face, I hear the earth in flight.
I could reach out and touch the moon, while the sun is chasing me around.
In the quiet darkness I find home, and I’m still searching for a sound.

Let the moon light find me, let the music play.
Beat the drums untill we shake the ground.
Till love comes back to stay.

Silence

So close together but still you’re not with me
The silence can be deafening and my days fly by
I feel my time is short,I know my days are few
I sit alone at night and stare into the silence
Loneliness and I have always been the very best of friends.
No one will hear me if I cry in the end.

We could never talk about what we really need
No one can ever be prepared For what you turn out to be
I bleed into my work traces of my soul
You stare into the chaos that I don’t want to know
Just phantoms left of who we used to be
We never touch and it breaks my heart

Darkness

Seems like all my words come from the darkness
Yet I keep searching for the light
I Feel the warm wind on my face
I can hear the earth in flight

I could reach out and touch the moon
While the sun is chasing me around
In the quite darkness I find home
and I’m still searching for that sound

Let the moon light find me
Let the music play

Let it shake the ground
Till love comes back to stay.

Then we will fly like birds in the sky

Then we will play all the songs undone
In the early morning mist

Same Ole Notes

Angels breathe fire, Children dance long before they walk.
A world filled with desire and now the mechanical demons talk.
I can’t get no higher but the pain just won’t leave.
My preacher is a liar and now my cop is a thief.

While politicians turn traitor, warriors are dying in the street.
Lost children’s faces just remind me of who I used to be.
The haters are my brothers, the lovers are my friends.
They spend their time sitting around making so many endless battle plans.

It’s the same ole news on a different day.
A world gone crazy sometimes too dark to see.
Sometimes the dream gets lost in the fog and the drinks.
Turns out you only see what you wanted to be.

One side is on fire the other may drown.
Might be time to stand me up and get me out of this town.
Sister morphine in my dream don’t you know I need you now.
Get me out of here wake me up somehow.

It’s the same ole story told a different way.
A world gone crazy, tiny heads right on the TV.
The words so cold and the children cry.
Still our warriors are dying lying in the street.

It’s the same ole world as when I was 16.
Something told me you better run and I did not hesitate.
Now i see that I am not alone there are so many like me.
Trust me when I say you know your dream will fade into a reality.

The childhood dream gets lost in the smoke and the trees.

Why

Woke with a dream in the back of my head
About 50 years ago.
Teenage band in a greyhound station
Just a misfit traveling show.

No Destination just couldn’t go home.
We had no real place to go.
Running away in the dead of the night.
Begin a life out on the road.

Why did I run.
Why did I cry.
With no place to go.
No wings to fly.

Daddy’s back from a war.
With those voices in his head.
An Anger man filled with pride.
A broken family man.

Was it wrong the children ask.
He keeps it inside
The kids just see brutality.
Then the angels cried.

Why did he fight.
Why did they die.
No legs to run.
No wings to fly.

Where do they go.
When the church bells ring.
Why they don’t laugh.
Why they don’t sing no more.
I ran out the door.

Where do they go.
When the church bells toll.
Daddy never came home.
Out in the rain we go.

Running

Find the silence if you think you can
It’s not so easy anymore
I used to care so much about
Which road I ran
But I’m not running anymore.

I wanted to be some kind of a hero
It just did not come to pass
Maybe some kind of a rock star
But it was not in my path.

I ran the back roads like everyone else
I never had much fear of dying.
It would not matter if you cry or run
We all have just so much time.

I escaped it once before in my past
But it will be back around.
I just hope when it finds me
I’m wide awake
If it sneaks up from behind.

 

Movie

We are not what we seem to be.
Just an actor in a play.
But not really here today.
